Musical Director: Hannah Mead
The Choir is most fortunate to have the services of Hannah Mead.
Born near Stratford on Avon, Hannah is the youngest ever MD the Choir has had. In her early twenties, she graduated from Keele University in 2011 with an M.A. in Music Psychology having a particular interest in research on adult amateur music-making and why people choose to engage with music.
The 29-year-old was spotted by a member of the choir when she was conducting a concert in Stafford. She trained in piano, flute and singing from an early age. These days she works as a social worker enjoying music-making as a hobby!
Accompanist: Anne Handley
Anne Handley was taught piano from 8 years old under the tutelage of George Jones who so encouraged her love of music that she began to learn flute at 12. So as well as being the choir accompanist she also plays flute with a concert band.
Music provides her with an excellent gateway to unwinding from her work as a nurse. A chance meeting with a choir member in 2005 led to her present appointment. She thoroughly enjoys this position and is a much liked and respected musician by all choristers.
